The Importance of the Project Manager

Successful companies of the future will be those that can foster a project management culture and engineer a capability to manage projects effectively.  

Various studies, including the bi-annual Chaos Report by the Standish Group, state that more IT projects fail than are successful.  There are many reasons for this, but all have the one common underlying trait - people problems.
